This is a very interesting and curious question, but we choose to answer it truthfully,
because we believe that users have a right to know how the website they use make money so that they can makesure they are not with some illegal operation or with a evil corporation that exploits the users or their privacy for money.

In both cases we just put harmless advertisements some where on the page, usually related to the product or the category it belongs to, and we will the advertiser for the process. So that's it clean and fresh. You are safe and sound.

In this case the process is a bit more complex, we have many users exchanging and sharing knowledge and products by analyzing this we will able to determine demand, supply, requirements, user review ..etc for many types of products we create a market report with this and sell to the company with details of the places and behaviors this affects. This report does not contain any personal information or even names of users. Just some complex graphs and numbers. .
